How to convence an athiest there is a God

this is really delicate.

You mentioned cancer. There's actually another type of cancer your buddy suffers from. It's sin.
So it's time for him to take action -->

Just ask him why he yearns.
When someone longs for kind of God, there must be a God.

Another argument is his spirit.
He's got essential questions like those concerning death, a purpose in life, after-life, etc.
Questions that remain unanswered.
Jesus fits to those perfectly.

What about his fear.
After his mother ceased giving milk to him being a little child he started like everybody else sensing fear: He'd become an individual - seperate from everyone else; alone and lonely.
God offers a deep and complete UNION causing relaxation and a feeling of satisfaction.

Let's give it one more:
Concerning his space he feels deep inside he realizes that something's missing unless Jesus enters his heart. Then he won't/wouldn't feel the emptiness no more.

I gonna spit it right here:
Think of creation - nature, humans - that is unique and intelligently designed and shows a work based on ideas.
IDEAS: Ideas reveal a powerful spirit i.e. God.

Not to forget is the question concerning the origin of energy.
As we know lots of energy caused the universe to develop.
Who or what provided the energy in question? Answer: an individual that is independent like God.

Besides, where's the alpha-dog, our leader, our chief?
The wolves got one. So now, where's ours?
That is God. So there must be a God.
There's a chief to everything. So, where's the chief of the world, the universe?

By the way, as humans are herd-animals, there must be a super-person that also longs for relation-ships thinking of the relation-ship(!) between rain and earth. Rain as the father, earth being the mother.
That super-person is our CREATOR, the designer.

Last but not least I'm providing another argument:
There's no end when analysing the micro-world as well as the macro-world.
So there must be more and more in the macro-world till finding God being the greatest "element" in this world (or trancending this world).

Convincing is a hard thing to do. But first off, God does not MAKE people suffer. The Bible says if you reject God he cannot help you. Example: If you have a wall how can He get in? HE CAN'T!!! Why, doesn't He break through? Because He is a loving God. He won't MAKE you do anything. He would be a tyrant if He did. So, he is NOT a tyrant. He does not MAKE you do anything. The Bible says You have what you say. So if you tell someone, "I have cancer. I am going to die." YOU WILL IF YOU KEEP SAYING THAT! The power of the tongue. SCIENTIST' have proven the SECOND most powerful muscle in out body is the tongue. Hello? SCIENTIFIC proof right there! And the BIBLE SAID IT FIRST! YAY! :)

Proof, is a hard one. Because they want scientific facts. Not scriptural facts. Because according to them anyone could have written the Bible. ( Of course we know that is not true. ) So when they ask where the proof is, point at them. Say: "YOU are the proof. You could not have come from a monkey, SCIENTIST' have found that CROSS' hold our body's together. Scientists have found a CROSS in space. What more proof is there? A God wanted you, to live with Him forever and ever. He want's love. Don't we all want love from someone? Well, God wants US to love him. And if we do, He will love us back. He will protect us and take us to heaven after death." LOTS OF SCIENTIFIC PROOF RIGHT THERE! Yay, right? :) 

Well, I know a lot of people do not even accept Christ even after hearing that, so if they do not accept your scientific proof you give to them. well PRAY! That is the thing to do.

got some experience...

...prayer is the KEY.

When praying yesterday for hours followed by worshipping I EXPERIENCED God being fully understood by Him closely talking between man and man.

It's really true what you said: We need His LOVE and presence. So it had become time to wake up for me.

Those times showed me that those spoken words to God were based on experience.

My experiences walking closely with God Almighty were achieved through struggle and faith. 

Those experiences consist of all I've learned and realised for the last 11 years since giving up.

So the base of my God-talk is my way with Him.

The point is that your LIFE fuels your prayers!

Yeah, He will love us back! When dealing with Him I was weeping sensing and comprehending the TRUTH that sets free!

What you also stated was this: After-life is gonna be reality. Zion - destiny and destination of the troops finding eventually peace and rest.

I was also sensing a great joy when worshipping and singing about paradise, so-called Zion - It's coming SOON.

So I gotta admit brother that your posting was entirely accurate. It shows me a great deal of understanding and integrity.
